Plans for a £100m mixed-use industrial and residential scheme on a 121-acre site in Chadderton have been submitted to Oldham Council by Foxdenton, a joint venture owned by Seddon and Grasscroft Property Company.
Foxdenton’s proposals include 700,000 sq ft of warehouse, manufacturing and office space, up to 500 new homes and 20 acres of public space. The business park will be able to accommodate 450,000 sq ft in a single unit.
Situated to the west of Oldham town centre off Foxdenton Lane, the site has been earmarked for residential and employment development by Oldham Council.
Foxdenton director Michael Coulter said: “These plans will create a sustainable and thriving community with significant benefits to the local economy through new employment opportunities and high quality new housing, which will both meet the needs of existing residents and attract new people to the area.”
Joint agents on the scheme are WHR Property Consultants and Jones Lang LaSalle, who are advising Foxdenton on the commercial element of the scheme.
The application includes a new link road through the site which is intended to help reduce traffic on Foxdenton Lane.
In addition, a number of new vehicle access points to the site from the local road network are proposed.
The planning application and environmental impact assessment was prepared for Foxdenton by HOW Planning.
5 Plus Architects have masterplanned the scheme with Curtins Consulting providing highways and transportation advice.
